Military and Families

The effects of battle are broad and far-reaching. It is estimated that one in FIVE soldiers returning from the recent conflicts will struggle with PTSD. There are also veterans from Korea, Vietnam and the Gulf War who are beginning to be recognized as dealing with the myriad of issues that accompany this designation.

"Yoga has worked so well with many Veterans who are coping with post-traumatic stress & other trauma-related psychological difficulties because yoga is a practice that brings us back into our bodies. It helps us sleep more soundly, helps us transform anger, & helps us rediscover curiosity & fun. It gives us the opportunity to live at our own pace & find our own truth. Yoga can help us be in the moment, the present moment, feeling comfortable in our own skin, with our boots on the ground."
